Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<8%
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<10%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Linearity
To assess the linearity of the assay, samples were spiked with high concentrations of human OFQ/N in various matrices and diluted with the Sample Diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay.

Recovery
The recovery of human OFQ/N spiked to levels throughout the range of the assay in various matrices was evaluated. Samples were diluted prior to assay as directed in the Sample Preparation section.

Target Background

Function
(From Uniprot)
Ligand of the opioid receptor-like receptor OPRL1. It may act as a transmitter in the brain by modulating nociceptive and locomotor behavior. May be involved in neuronal differentiation and development.; Blocks nociceptin action in pain transmission by inhibiting nociceptin-induced hyperalgesia and allodynia.; Has potent analgesic activity.

  2. The presence of the PNOC rs732636 A allele was associated with the worse Neonatal abstinence syndrome outcomes in infants. PMID: 26791055
  3. Data suggest that nociceptin plays a crucial role in progress of meiosis during spermatogenesis. [REVIEW] PMID: 25677772
  4. Data suggest that both nociceptin and nocistatin inhibit myometrial contractions and may play roles in perception of pain during delivery. [REVIEW] PMID: 25677774
