Assay Principle
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.
To assess the linearity of the assay, samples were spiked with high concentrations of mouse SERPINA6 in various matrices and diluted with the Sample Diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay.

Target Background

(From Uniprot)
Major transport protein for glucocorticoids and progestins in the blood of almost all vertebrate species.
Gene References into Functions
  1. CBG is involved in the gender differences observed in corticosteroids circulating levels and plays a role in the local regulation of corticosteroids availability in organs like lung. PMID: 26741814
  2. the same gene encodes brain and liver corticosteroid-binding globulin PMID: 24246737
  3. Data suggest fine control interaction between plasma CBG upregulation and stress-induced corticosterone (CORT) release in mouse model of psychological stress; CBG appears to function in maintaining dynamic equilibrium between CBG-bound/-unbound CORT. PMID: 24048966
  4. Sequencing analysis showed that Cbg cDNA obtained from the mouse hypothalamus was homologous to Cbg cDNA obtained from the liver. PMID: 22996440
  5. Cbg-/- mice, unlike controls, remain insensitive to stress applied before memory retrieval. Furthermore, under stress conditions, we observed a blunted surge of corticosterone (CORT) in plasma and no free CORT rise in the hippocampus of Cbg-/-. PMID: 22930537
  6. study describes functional hyporesponsiveness and aldosterone resistance in distal colon of CBG(-/-) mice; steroid actions require an intrinsic but unknown function of CBG, which allows the sufficient supply of the hormone/s to the target tissue PMID: 20969731
  7. Critical role of plasma Cbg in providing an adequate endocrine and behavioral response to stress. PMID: 20022933
  8. These data suggest an active role for CBG in bioavailability, local delivery, and/or cellular signal transduction of glucocorticoids that extends beyond a function as a mere cargo transporter. PMID: 16980625
