Because Galectin-3 is both an intracellular mediator and a secreted signal that fluctuates dramatically between resting and inflammatory states, precise quantification across compartments is essential.
Detection Range: The 31.25–2000 pg/mL range captures Galectin-3 levels in mouse serum under both baseline and inflammatory conditions, where concentrations can rise sharply during fibrotic or cardiac injury models. Serum samples from disease models may require dilution, while conditioned media from unstimulated cells can often be measured neat.
Sensitivity: At 7.81 pg/mL, the kit detects Galectin-3 in low-abundance contexts such as conditioned media from resting macrophages or early-stage fibrotic tissue, where secreted levels remain minimal before robust immune activation.
Sample Compatibility: Validation across serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, and tissue homogenates allows researchers to track Galectin-3 from its intracellular stores in tissue through its secretion into circulation — enabling paired analyses in organ fibrosis or tumor microenvironment studies.
