Description

Lipoxin A4 (LXA4) is a specialized pro-resolving mediator derived from arachidonic acid through the lipoxygenase pathway. This bioactive lipid plays a key role in resolving inflammation by promoting the clearance of apoptotic neutrophils, inhibiting further neutrophil recruitment, and stimulating macrophage-mediated tissue repair processes. LXA4 functions as an endogenous "stop signal" for inflammatory responses. This makes it an important research target for understanding inflammatory resolution mechanisms and developing therapeutic approaches for chronic inflammatory diseases.

The Mouse Lipoxin A4,LXA4 ELISA Kit (CSB-E13268m) is designed for quantitative measurement of LXA4 in Mus musculus samples. This sandwich-based assay accommodates serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, and tissue homogenates with a detection range of 62.5 pg/mL to 4000 pg/mL and sensitivity of 15.6 pg/mL. The assay requires 50-100 μL sample volume, operates at 450 nm detection wavelength, and can be completed within 1-5 hours.

Application Examples

Note: The following application examples are drawn from a selection of publications citing this product. For additional applications, please refer to the full list of references in the "Citations" section.

This ELISA kit has been used in research examining lipoxin biology and inflammatory resolution pathways in mouse models. Studies have applied the kit to measure lipoxin levels in both serum samples and hepatic tissue, showing its versatility across different sample types in preclinical research.

Radiation injury research: Measuring lipoxin levels in mouse models of lung irradiation to study inflammatory responses and potential therapeutic interventions
Hepatic biochemical analysis: Quantifying lipoxin levels in liver tissue as part of comprehensive biochemical profiling studies
Inflammatory mediator profiling: Measuring lipoxin alongside other inflammatory mediators to characterize complex inflammatory cascades
