Description

The product CSB-E14144m is a sandwich ELISA kit developed to measure levels of mouse thymus activation regulated chemokine (TARC) in multiple samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, or tissue homogenates. The enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction is also used to amplify the signal and quantify the levels of the analyte through the intensity of the colored product. The color intensity positively correlates with the amount of TARC bound in the initial step.

TRAC, also called CCL17, is a chemokine responsible for trafficking Th2 cells into sites of allergic inflammation. It promotes chemotaxis of effector T cells and supports DC-T cell interactions as well as DC migration towards TRAC-ligands. TARC binds specifically to CCR4 with high affinity and is involved in the trafficking of Th2 cells in eosinophil-associated disorders, including AA and AD, and presumably of neoplastic cells in certain T cell lymphomas such as angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma (AITL), mycosis fungoides (MF), and Sezary syndrome (SS). Lorenz Fülle et al. proved that TARC exerts a neuroimmune modulatory function and is expressed in hippocampal neurons through mouse models.
