Syndecan-4 functions as a critical transmembrane proteoglycan co-receptor that modulates FGF signaling, focal adhesion formation, and cell migration through interactions with growth factors and extracellular matrix components. This tag-free recombinant human SDC4 ectodomain (aa 19–145) demonstrates confirmed binding activity to bFGF in functional ELISA, with immobilized protein at 500 ng/ml capturing bFGF across a linear range of 0.1–10 ng/ml, providing a suitable basis for integrin-ligand binding studies, cell adhesion and spreading assays, and antibody development campaigns. The validated bFGF interaction also supports use in cell migration and invasion assays where SDC4-mediated signaling drives cytoskeletal reorganization and tumor metastasis research. Produced in *E. coli* with purity exceeding 95% by SDS-PAGE and endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg, this preparation satisfies the quality criteria typical for functional binding assays and cell-based experiments requiring minimal innate immune activation.
