Image	Immunofluorescence staining of HepG2 cells with CSB-PA005909LA01HU at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).

Target Background

Function

Carboxypeptidase which preferentially cleaves C-terminal acidic residues from peptides and proteins. Can also cleave C-terminal hydrophobic amino acids, with a preference for small residues over large residues.

hCPO can also trim C-t extensions of proteins, such as epidermal growth factor, suggesting a role in the maturation and degradation of growth factors and bioactive peptides. PMID: 29636417
CPO cleaves acidic amino acids from dietary proteins and peptides, thus complementing the actions of well known digestive carboxypeptidases CPA and CPB. PMID: 21921028
