The Early E3 18.5 kDa glycoprotein polyclonal antibody is derived from the immunization of a rabbit with recombinant human adenovirus C serotype 5 Early E3 18.5 kDa glycoprotein protein (18-124aa). This process triggers the production of specific antibodies within the rabbit's serum. Post-immunization, the Early E3 18.5 kDa glycoprotein antibody undergoes purification through affinity chromatography, resulting in a highly specific antibody that demonstrates reactivity with human adenovirus C serotype 5 Early E3 18.5 kDa glycoprotein protein. Its functionality is rigorously confirmed through ELISA and WB applications.
The human adenovirus C serotype 5 Early E3 18.5 kDa glycoprotein protein (E3-19K) mainly inhibits the host immune response against the virus. E3-19K functions as an immune evasion protein by binding to MHC-I molecules within infected cells and preventing their transport to the cell surface, thus interfering with the presentation of viral antigens. This process helps the virus evade detection and destruction by the immune system, promoting viral replication and persistence.
