1. NKRF is a nucleolar HSP essential for nucleolus homeostasis and cell survival under proteotoxic stress. NKRF is a thermosensor translocating from the nucleolus to the nucleoplasm during heat stress; nucleolar pools are replenished upon HSF1-mediated NKRF resynthesis.
