Function

Functions in exocytosis in pancreatic acinar cells regulating the fusion of zymogen granules with each other. May have a pore-forming activity on membranes and regulate exocytosis in other exocrine tissues.

Gene References into Functions

Additional serum biomarkers, particularly SYCN and REG1B, when combined with CA19.9, show promise as improved diagnostic indicators of pancreatic cancer, which therefore warrants further validation. PMID: 24007603
