The grxD polyclonal antibody is produced by introducing the recombinant E.coli grxD protein (amino acids 24-115) into a rabbit, stimulating the generation of antibodies targeting this antigen. A booster injection is administered to enhance antibody production, followed by the collection and purification of serum containing grxD polyclonal antibodies using affinity chromatography. Extensive testing through ELISA and WB assays has verified the antibody's ability to specifically recognize E.coli grxD protein.
The E. coli grxD protein is a thiol-disulfide oxidoreductase that plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular redox balance and protecting the cell from oxidative stress. Specifically, grxD is involved in Thiol-Disulfide exchange, reduction of protein disulfides, detoxification of reactive oxygen species (ROS), and repair and maintenance of Fe-S clusters in proteins.
