Description

The prfA polyclonal antibody is produced by introducing recombinant Listeria monocytogenes serovar 1/2a (strain ATCC BAA-679 / EGD-e) prfA protein (amino acids 1-237) into a rabbit, stimulating the generation of antibodies targeting this antigen. A booster injection is administered to enhance antibody production, followed by the collection and purification of serum containing prfA polyclonal antibodies using protein G. Extensive testing through ELISA and WB assays has verified the prfA antibody's ability to specifically recognize Listeria monocytogenes serovar 1/2a (strain ATCC BAA-679 / EGD-e) prfA protein.

The prfA protein in Listeria monocytogenes serovar 1/2a is a key transcriptional regulator that controls the expression of virulence genes, enabling the bacterium to invade host cells, survive within them, escape from phagocytic vacuoles, spread from cell to cell, and adapt to the intracellular environment. This regulatory function is crucial for the pathogenicity of Listeria and its ability to cause infections in the host.
