Description
The CSB-PA338957LA01PQP polyclonal antibody against rgpA was generated by immunizing rabbits with recombinant Porphyromonas gingivalis Gingipain R1 protein (228-720aa). RgpA is a thiol protease that works synergistically with RgpB to catalyze the maturation of fimbrial subunits such as FimA. It plays a significant role in periodontal tissue destruction and evasion of host defense mechanisms, requiring cysteine for activation and Ca2+ and/or Mg2+ for stabilization.
The rabbit anti-Porphyromonas gingivalis rgpA polyclonal antibody was purified by protein G, reaching a 95% purity level. It specifically binds to rgpA proteins of Porphyromonas gingivalis and can detect endogenous levels of rgpA protein in ELISA assays.
