Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Histone acetyltransferase that plays a direct role in the specific histone acetylation associated with dosage compensation as part of the MSL complex. Dosage compensation insures that males with a single X chromosome have the same amount of most X-linked gene products as females with two X chromosomes. May be directly involved in the acetylation of histone 4 at 'Lys-16' on the X chromosome of males where it is recruited by the MSL complex. As part of the NSL complex may associate with promoters of X chromosomal as well as autosomal genes and positively regulate their transcription through chromatin modification.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Accumulation of Mof at the Diap1 promoter 800 bp upstream of the transcription start site in wild type larvae is significantly higher (up to two folds) compared to mof1 mutants. PMID: 26711898
  2. MOF controls Checkpoint protein2 and regulates genomic stability during early embryogenesis. PMID: 23347679
  3. The role of MOF in the response to ionizing radiation is conserved between Drosophila and mammals. PMID: 22072291
  4. It was shown that the MOF chromobarrel domain is essential for H4K16 acetylation throughout the Drosophila genome and is required for spreading of the male-specific lethal complex on the X chromosome. PMID: 22421046
  5. The activation potential of MOF is constrained in male cells in the context of the DCC to arrive at the 2-fold activation of transcription characteristic of dosage compensation. PMID: 20620953
  6. The roX1 and roX2 genes produce redundant, male-specific lethal transcripts required for targeting the MSL complex. PMID: 11867536
  7. chromo barrel domain structure from the MOF acetyltransferase PMID: 15964847
  8. We purify enzymatically active MSL complexes from Drosophila embryos. We find a stable association of the histone H4 lysine 16-specific acetyltransferase MOF with the RNA/protein containing MSL complex as well as with an evolutionary conserved complex. PMID: 16543150
  9. Data show that the non-dosage compensated Lsp1alpha gene of Drosophila melanogaster escapes acetylation by MOF in larval fat body nuclei, but is flanked by two dosage compensated genes. PMID: 17511883
  10. MOF is an essential factor for embryogenesis and oncogenesis PMID: 17967868
  11. MOF is not only involved in the onset of dosage compensation, but also acts as a regulator of gene expression in the Drosophila genome. PMID: 18510926
