Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Involved in eye morphogenesis.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Loss of Ey within the peripodial epithelium leads to the loss of dpp expression within the eye, failure of the furrow to initiate, and abrogation of retinal development. These findings reveal an unexpected mechanism for how Pax6 controls eye development in Drosophila. PMID: 29980566
  2. The loss of Pax6, but not of Eya, is required for Sfmbt dependent eye-to-wing transformation. PMID: 29530880
  3. Eyeless uncouples mushroom body neuroblast proliferation from dietary amino acids in Drosophila. PMID: 28826476
  4. Pax6 initiates both eye specification and proliferation PMID: 28584125
  5. Eyeless (Ey), Drosophila homolog of Pax6, regulates the production of glial cells in the brain. PMID: 26670857
  6. The third helix of the Ey HD can directly interact with the RED subdomain in Ey Paired domain. PMID: 25234589
  7. Daughterless homodimer synergizes with Eyeless to induce Atonal expression and retinal neuron differentiation. PMID: 24886829
  8. eyeless links neurogenesis and neuronal migration PMID: 21208993
  9. B52/SRp55 makes 2 isoforms, the longer with a 60-AA alternative exon at the start of the paired domain & is defective for ectopic eye formation & target DNA binding. Overproduction causes small eyes. The shorter causes eye overgrowth & disorganization. PMID: 17327915
  10. The direct functional antagonism between PB (proboscipedia) and EY proteins suggests a novel crosstalk mechanism integrating known selector functions in head morphogenesis. PMID: 12490563
  11. eyeless controls eye specification together with several other genes (review) PMID: 15170856
  12. Twin of eyeless (toy) directly regulates eyeless (ey), which is necessary for initiating the eye developmental pathway. PMID: 15253940
  13. acts as a transcriptional activator, with DNA-binding specificity PMID: 15973436
  14. Eyeless controls insulin-producing cells function by the direct transcriptional control of one of the major Dilps, dilp5 PMID: 18852455
  15. Ey harbors transactivation domains within the CT segment Non-conserved NT & B segments of Ey have transcriptional repressive activity. Ey ability to be both activator & repressor lets it transform non-retinal tissues & induce ectopic eye formation. PMID: 19406113
  16. Toy and Ey, to some extent, can substitute for each other. PMID: 19484263
  17. New eyeless alleles, each with a single missense mutation in one of the four domains of the protein, in abnormal eye and brain development. PMID: 19666017
