Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Component of the ERI/DICER complex which is involved in processing amplified double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) intermediates during small-RNA-mediated gene-silencing or RNA interference (RNAi). Involved in cleaving dsRNA in the RNAi pathway. It produces 21 to 23 bp dsRNAs (siRNAs) which target the selective destruction of homologous RNAs. Seems to process the precursor of the small temporal RNA let-7 which is involved in developmental timing. Required for avoidance behavior induced by small RNAs derived from pathogenic bacteria such as P.aeruginosa. Involved in innate immunity through its role in small RNA processing.; tDCR-1 acts as a deoxyribonuclease (DNase) initiating DNA fragmentation during apoptosis, upstream of nucleases cps-6, crn-2 and nuc-1.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Report of transcriptome-wide map of Dicer targets; identify thousands of Dicer-binding sites in human cells and C. elegans; find known and hundreds of additional miRNAs; also report structural RNAs, promoter RNAs, and mitochondrial transcripts as Dicer targets; most Dicer-binding sites reside on mRNAs/lncRNAs and are not significantly processed into small RNAs. PMID: 25416952
  2. Cleavage of DCR-1 by caspase 3 may cause a conformational change that allows truncated DCR-1 to bind and process DNA, and may remove steric hindrance that blocks DNA access to truncated DCR-1. PMID: 24323044
  3. [review] Dicer-1 lacks a functional helicase domain and is responsible for processing pre-microRNAs into mature miRNAs. PMID: 24556400
  4. Taken together, these results uncover a previously unknown role for DCR-1/Dicer in C. elegans antibacterial immunity that is largely associated with miRNA processing. PMID: 23918784
  5. Dicer's helicase domain discriminates dsRNA termini to promote an altered reaction mode PMID: 21362554
  6. the helicase domain of Dicer is not necessary for microRNA (miRNA) processing, or RNA interference following exposure to exogenous double-stranded RNA PMID: 20354150
  7. findings show that DCR-1 functions in fragmenting chromosomal DNA during apoptosis, in addition to processing of small RNAs, and undergoes a protease-mediated conversion from a ribonuclease to a deoxyribonuclease PMID: 20223951
  8. Our findings provide a first glimpse at the complex biochemical niche of Dicer and suggest that competition exists between DCR-1-mediated small-RNA pathways. PMID: 16439208
  9. Knock-out animals Dcr-/- show increased expression of innate immunity genes. PMID: 17526642
