Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol.
Note: If you have any special requirement for the glycerol content, please remark when you place the order.
If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

The expression region of this recombinant Hepatitis E virus genotype 1 ORF2 covers amino acids 20-660. The theoretical molecular weight of the ORF2 protein is 71.3 kDa. Expression of this ORF2 protein is conducted in baculovirus. The N-terminal 10xHis tag was fused into the coding gene segment of ORF2, making it easier to detect and purify the ORF2 recombinant protein in the later stages of expression and purification.

Research on the pro-secreted protein ORF2 primarily focuses on revealing its secretion function and potential roles in diseases. Firstly, the protein encoded by ORF2 is believed to possess secretion functionality, potentially executing crucial biological tasks outside the cells, prompting scientists' interest in its involvement in intercellular communication and immune regulation. Secondly, researchers are dedicated to uncovering the associations between ORF2 and various diseases, including cancer and immune-related disorders, for a better understanding of its exact roles in the occurrence and development of these conditions.

Target Background

Plays a role in the inhibition of host antibody-mediated neutralization without blocking viral cell entry.; Forms an icosahedral capsid with a T=1 symmetry and a 34 nm diameter. The capsid is composed of 60 copies linked to each other. Binds to the 5' end of the genomic RNA to mediate genome encapsidation. Binds to heparin surface proteoglycans (HSPGs) to mediate viral entry. Additionally, the interactions with host ASGR1 and ASGR2 facilitate viral infection of hepatocytes.
Subcellular Location
[Isoform Secreted protein ORF2]: Secreted.; [Isoform Capsid protein ORF2]: Virion. Host cytoplasm. Host endoplasmic reticulum. Host Golgi apparatus. Host cell surface.
