Buffer

Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

The expression region of this recombinant Hepatitis E virus genotype 1 ORF2 covers amino acids 20-660. The theoretical molecular weight of the ORF2 protein is 71.3 kDa. Expression of this ORF2 protein is conducted in baculovirus. The N-terminal 10xHis tag was fused into the coding gene segment of ORF2, making it easier to detect and purify the ORF2 recombinant protein in the later stages of expression and purification.

Plays a role in the inhibition of host antibody-mediated neutralization without blocking viral cell entry.; Forms an icosahedral capsid with a T=1 symmetry and a 34 nm diameter. The capsid is composed of 60 copies linked to each other. Binds to the 5' end of the genomic RNA to mediate genome encapsidation. Binds to heparin surface proteoglycans (HSPGs) to mediate viral entry. Additionally, the interactions with host ASGR1 and ASGR2 facilitate viral infection of hepatocytes.
