Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Major calcium-binding protein of the Golgi which may have a role in calcium homeostasis. Acts as a non-receptor guanine nucleotide exchange factor which binds to and activates alpha subunits of guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins).
Gene References into Functions
  1. Data suggest that calnuc (nucleobindin 1) is possibly involved in controlling protein unfolding diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), prion disease, and type II diabetes. PMID: 27997158
  2. Calnuc depletion causes the misdelivery to and degradation in lysosomes of cationic-independent mannose-6-phosphate receptor and Sortilin . PMID: 26756199
  3. nesfatin-1 has a role in thyroid dysfunction in patients with T2DM PMID: 24995340
  4. The serine protease activity of calnuc is allosterically regulated by Zn2+ binding and its interaction with G protein alpha subunit. PMID: 23195954
  5. postulate that the engineered forms of NUCB1 prevent hIAPP fibril formation by a mechanism where protofibril-like species are "capped" to prevent further fibril assembly and maturation PMID: 22542527
  6. structural basis for the properties of Calnuc and NUCB2 binding to Galpha subunits and its regulation by calcium ions. PMID: 21653697
  7. Nucleobindin 1 is a calcium-regulated guanine nucleotide dissociation inhibitor of G{alpha}i1. PMID: 20679342
  8. Comparison between the structure of nucleobindin and other EF-hand proteins sheds light into the dual function of nucleobindin as Ca2+ storage (buffer) and Ca2+ sensor. PMID: 15287731
  9. Calnuc protein may be a tumor-associated antigen (TAA) that induces autoantibody response in human cancers PMID: 17390015
  10. NUCB1 is the first-identified, Golgi-localized negative feedback regulator in the ATF6-mediated branch of the UPR PMID: 17686766
  11. results suggest that the functions of nucleobindins could be modulated by caspase-mediated cleavage in apoptosis PMID: 18154733
  12. Proline residue at the +2-position (Pro(+2)) from the signal peptide cleavage site is the determinant of NUCB1 protein export from the ER and subsequent transport to the Golgi. PMID: 19656946
