Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Converts 1-acyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate (lysophosphatidic acid or LPA) into 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphate (phosphatidic acid or PA) by incorporating an acyl moiety at the sn-2 position of the glycerol backbone.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Adipogenically induced Agpat2(-/-) preadipocytes had fewer lipid-loaded cells and lower levels of adipocyte markers than wild type preadipocytes. PMID: 26417690
  2. Leptin ameliorates insulin resistance and hepatic steatosis in Agpat2-/- lipodystrophic mice independent of hepatocyte leptin receptors PMID: 24293639
  3. The lack of normal insulin signaling in Agpat2(-/-) livers allows unrestricted phosphatidic acid-induced gluconeogenesis. PMID: 24425876
  4. Data suggest that Agpat2 regulates adipogenesis through modulation of lipid metabolism/signal transduction, altering normal activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/protooncogene c-Akt and PPARgamma signaling in early stage of adipogenesis. PMID: 22872237
  5. the role of AGPAT1 or AGPAT2 in liver lipogenesis is minimal and that accumulation of liver fat is primarily a consequence of insulin resistance PMID: 21873652
  6. Loss of adipocytes by necrosis and apoptosis in Agpat2 null mice PMID: 21051554
  7. There is a prevalence of mutations in this enzymes among human lipodystrophies PMID: 12765973
  8. impaired AGPAT2 activity affects availability of phosphatidic acid (PA) for triacylglycerol synthesis but not overall PA synthesis nor utilization of PA for phospholipid synthesis PMID: 16495223
  9. The alternative monoacylglycerol pathway for triglyceride biosynthesis is activated in the absence of 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase 2. PMID: 19187773
