Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Cell adhesion molecule that mediates both heterotypic cell-cell contacts via its interaction with CD6, as well as homotypic cell-cell contacts. Promotes T-cell activation and proliferation via its interactions with CD6. Contributes to the formation and maturation of the immunological synapse via its interactions with CD6. Mediates homotypic interactions with cells that express ALCAM. Mediates attachment of dendritic cells onto endothelial cells via homotypic interaction. Inhibits endothelial cell migration and promotes endothelial tube formation via homotypic interactions. Required for normal organization of the lymph vessel network. Required for normal hematopoietic stem cell engraftment in the bone marrow. Plays a role in hematopoiesis; required for normal numbers of hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow. Promotes in vitro osteoblast proliferation and differentiation. Promotes neurite extension, axon growth and axon guidance; axons grow preferentially on surfaces that contain ALCAM. Mediates outgrowth and pathfinding for retinal ganglion cell axons.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Our data demonstrate that ALCAM KO mice develop a more severe active experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, which can be explained by an increased permeability of their BBB. This loss in BBB integrity is due to a dysregulation of junctional molecules caused by the lack of ALCAM at the level of the TJ molecules. PMID: 28069965
  2. demonstrates for the first time the in vivo contribution of ALCAM to angiogenesis and reveals a novel role of stromally expressed ALCAM in supporting tumor growth and metastatic spread PMID: 28822802
  3. Our results indicate that the loss of CD166 impacts hematopoietic stem cell numbers PMID: 25730656
  4. Data indicate that the CD166/AKT axis modulates tumorigenesis via promotion of phosphorylation and facilitation of degradation, ubiquitination and cytosolic accumulation of FOXO proteins in liver cancer cells. PMID: 24891117
  5. ALCAM stably interacts with actin by binding to syntenin-1 and ezrin. PMID: 24662291
  6. CD166/ALCAM (ALCAM) is a close structural and functional homolog of RAGE; it shows that binding of S100B to CD166/ALCAM induces dose- and time-dependent expression of NF-kappaB family members in wild type and RAGE-deficient mouse endothelial cells. PMID: 23729438
  7. Activated Leukocyte Cell Adhesion Molecule (ALCAM) or CD166 expression on osteoblasts is directly correlated with Runx2 expression and high hematopoiesis enhancing activity. PMID: 23369988
  8. Behavioral deficits caused by prolonged IFN alpha treatment were not prevented by blocking ALCAM, which is involved in immune cell entry to the brain. PMID: 23178534
  9. novel role for ALCAM in stabilizing LEC-LEC interactions and in the organization and function of the LV network. PMID: 23169771
  10. The presence of CD166 on prostate stem/progenitors and castration resistant sub-populations suggest that it is a cell surface molecule with the potential for targeted delivery of human prostate cancer therapeutics. PMID: 22880034
  11. CD166 is highly expressed within the endogenous intestinal stem cell niche PMID: 20826154
  12. The higher adhesion molecules expression and higher BBB permeability contributed to the major inflammatory cell infiltration into the CNS of C57BL/6 mice that was not efficient to control the parasite. PMID: 20434443
  13. ALCAM promotes medial extension of retinal ganglion cell axon branches by interacting with immunoglobulin superfamily adhesion molecule L1. PMID: 20016077
  14. expression by mesenchymal stem cells in perichondrium PMID: 12070283
  15. ALCAM is expressed transiently in gonocytes. Sertoli cells and myoid cells also express ALCAM at the same stage. PMID: 12781694
  16. SC1 mRNA levels increase 5-fold as neurogenesis progresses. PMID: 12935912
  17. Both motor and retinal ganglion cell axons of BEN-deficient mice fasciculated poorly and were occasionally misdirected. In addition, BEN mutant retinae exhibited evaginated or invaginated regions with photoreceptor ectopias. PMID: 15345243
  18. We conclude that during sialoadenitis, CD166 undergoes a gain of function, resulting in closer association with the actin cytoskeleton and increased capacity to bind CD6. Altered CD166 function may contribute to the pro-inflammatory milieu . PMID: 16418799
  19. The transient expression of ALCAM during early developmental stages marks specific developmental stages in cardiomyocyte differentiation. PMID: 17409743
  20. These results indicate that cells retaining a potential to differentiate to the cardiac lineage are present in E8.5 yolk sacs and can be isolated as ALCAM high+, Flk-1- cells. PMID: 17964124
  21. ALCAM coordinates tissue growth and cell migration in a process involvnig L1CAM PMID: 18483249
