Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Accepts the ubiquitin-like proteins SUMO1, SUMO2 and SUMO3 from the UBLE1A-UBLE1B E1 complex and catalyzes their covalent attachment to other proteins with the help of an E3 ligase such as RANBP2, CBX4 and ZNF451. Can catalyze the formation of poly-SUMO chains. Essential for nuclear architecture, chromosome segregation and embryonic viability. Necessary for sumoylation of FOXL2 and KAT5. Sumoylates p53/TP53 at 'Lys-386'. Mediates sumoylation of ERCC6 which is essential for its transcription-coupled nucleotide excision repair activity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. These findings suggest that the UBC9/PML/RNF4 axis plays a critical role as an important SUMO pathway in cardiac fibrosis. Modulating the protein levels of the pathway provides an attractive therapeutic target for the treatment of cardiac fibrosis and heart failure. PMID: 28143738
  2. this study shows that loss of Ubc9 results in a significant reduction of CD4 and CD8 single-positive lymphocytes in both thymus and periphery PMID: 28314856
  3. Increased UBC9-mediated SUMOylation is sufficient to upregulate cardiac autophagy. UBC9 overexpression reduced aggregate formation, decreased fibrosis, reduced hypertrophy, and improved cardiac function and survival. PMID: 27142163
  4. Synaptic trapping of Ubc9 through a PKC phosphorylation-dependent increase of Ubc9 recognition to phosphorylated substrates and consequently leads to the modulation of synaptic sumoylation. PMID: 25311713
  5. UBC9 has a role in promoting proliferation and migration of fibroblast-like synoviocytes in rheumatoid arthritis PMID: 24531852
  6. the sole SUMO E2 enzyme Ubc9 plays a critical role in reprogramming fibroblasts to iPS cells and maintaining ESC pluripotency. PMID: 24706591
  7. Data indicate that knockdown of ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme 9 (UBC9) by small interfering RNA caused significant accumulations of aggregated protein. PMID: 25097219
  8. Ubc9 negatively regulates osteoblastic differentiation induced by BMP. PMID: 22366399
  9. expressed Ubc9 at modestly increased levels showed robust resistance to brain ischemia compared to wild type mice PMID: 22016779
  10. Ubiquitous loss of sumoylation due to loss of UBC9 led to immediate fatal failure of intestinal function. Sumoylation was required for nucleus positioning and polarized organization of actin in the enterocytes. PMID: 20951138
  11. FOXL2 interacts with PIAS1 and UBC9, and sumoylated in both human and mouse PMID: 20209145
  12. The temporal profile of UBC9 induction and its ability to affect C/EBPdelta mRNA induction support a role for this protein during early adipogenesis PMID: 20881252
  13. Knockdown of the SUMO-conjugating enzyme, Ubc9, severely compromises C2C12 muscle cell terminal differentiation. However, it does not affect the expression, the localization and the activation of MyoD and myogenin. PMID: 16631162
  14. Noncovalent interaction between Ubc9 and SUMO promotes SUMO chain formation. PMID: 17491593
  15. Transcriptionally quiescent, fully grown, GV-intact oocytes have larger UBE2I-containing bodies than transcriptionally active, meiotically incompetent, growing oocytes. PMID: 18703419
  16. Taken together, these observations suggest that Ubc9 functions as a transcriptional repressor of IRF-1 by inducing sumoylation, and that this effect may be required for the physiological activity of IRF-1. PMID: 18955028
