Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Fodrin, which seems to be involved in secretion, interacts with calmodulin in a calcium-dependent manner and is thus candidate for the calcium-dependent movement of the cytoskeleton at the membrane.
Gene References into Functions
  1. required for proper development of the heart PMID: 24064296
  2. The findings showed that beta-2 spectrin plays a crucial role in hepatocyte proliferation, which contributes to liver regeneration. PI3K/Akt was involved in TGFbeta/Smad signalling pathway through the interaction with Smad proteins and beta-2 spectrin. PMID: 22541060
  3. These data reveal that embryonic liver fodrin is involved in hepatic stellate cell activation and the formation of regenerative nodules derived from hepatic progenitor cells in cirrhotic liver. PMID: 21388516
  4. costamere-association of dynactin-4 did not require dystrophin but did depend on beta2 spectrin and ankyrin-B, whereas costamere association of ankyrin-B required beta2 spectrin PMID: 21186323
  5. ELF is involved in the pathogenesis of primary biliary cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. PMID: 15566516
  6. Data show that Spnb2 [beta2SP(+/-)] mice are born with many phenotypic characteristics observed in BWS patients, suggesting that beta2SP mutant mice phenocopy BWS, and beta2SP loss could be one of the mechanisms associated with BWS. PMID: 20739274
  7. downregulated expression in T cells following treatment with bis(tri-n-butylin)oxide (TBTO), an immunotoxic organotin PMID: 19552622
  8. results point to ELF as an essential adaptor protein required for key events in the propagation of TGF-beta signaling PMID: 12543979
  9. interaction between members of the ankyrin and beta-spectrin families previously established in erythrocytes and axon initial segments also occurs in neonatal cardiomyocytes with ankyrin-B and beta(2)-spectrin. PMID: 15262991
  10. In response to ELF deficiency, the abnormalities of G1/S checkpoint and senescence contribute their increment of susceptibility to malignant transformation. PMID: 16650383
  11. E-cadherin thus requires both ankyrin-G and beta-2-spectrin for its cellular localization in early embryos as well as cultured epithelial cells. PMID: 17620337
  12. ELF, a TGF-beta adaptor and signaling molecule, functions as a critical adaptor protein in TGF-beta modulation of angiogenesis as well as cell cycle progression. PMID: 18704924
