Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4℃ for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Flagellin is the subunit protein which polymerizes to form the filaments of bacterial flagella.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Study indicates the roles of FliC phosphorylation in the processes of motility, secretion and biofilm formation and uncovered effects of S/T phosphorylation of FliC on protease secretion by T2SS and biofilm dispersal. PMID: 27701473
  2. Passive immunization with antibodies against flagellin a+b led to an efficacious protection against P. aeruginosa infection in both acute pneumonia and burn models. PMID: 28065582
  3. Flagellin drives NEU1 to desialylate MUC1, thereby increasing its adhesiveness for Pseudomonas aeruginosa and its shedding PMID: 25963144
  4. Administration of flagellin 'b' via intraperitoneal route enhanced the clearance of homologous as well as heterologous bacteria (P. aeruginosa uroisolate carrying flagellin 'a') in renal tissue PMID: 25455605
  5. Data suggest that the structure-based modeling study on paFliC, the paFliC-TLR5 complex, and the paFliC filament could contribute to the improvement of vaccine design to control P. aeruginosa infection. PMID: 24434155
  6. Flagellum-deficient (DeltafliC) bacteria produces adequate amounts of exoproteases to degrade SP-A through quorum-sensing. PMID: 21205009
  7. The pattern of gene expression directed by flagellin in human airway epithelial cells includes innate host defense genes, proinflammatory cytokines, and chemokines. PMID: 15494517
  8. Flagellin exclusively inhibits the ENaC sodium channel, probably due to release of ATP and activation of purinergic receptors of the P2Y subtype. This activates the MAPK pathway, inhibiting ENaC. Thus, P. aeruginosa reduces Na+ absorption. PMID: 16410345
