Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Description

The creation of the recombinant Rat S100a6 protein is achieved through genetic engineering techniques. A specific DNA sequence coding for the Rat S100a6 protein (1-89aa) is integrated into an expression vector, which serves as a carrier for gene expression. This vector is then introduced into e.coli cells, which are cultured to facilitate the expression of the desired protein. The protein is fused with a N-terminal 10xHis tag. The recombinant Rat S100a6 protein is subsequently purified using affinity purification, resulting in a purity level exceeding 90%, as verified by SDS-PAGE analysis.

Target Background

Function
May function as calcium sensor and modulator, contributing to cellular calcium signaling. May function by interacting with other proteins, such as TPR-containing proteins, and indirectly play a role in many physiological processes such as the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton and in cell motility. Binds 2 calcium ions. Calcium binding is cooperative.
Gene References into Functions
  1. S100A6 overexpression by ultrasound-targeted microbubble destruction helps ameliorate myocardial ischemia-reperfusion, resulting in lower mortality and improved left ventricular systolic function post-ischemia-reperfusion via attenuation of apoptosis, reduction in cardiac hypertrophy, and reduced infarct size PMID: 28174168
  2. The level of S100A6 mRNA was very low and did not change during long-term posttetanic potentiation in the hippocampus. PMID: 20027335
  3. role in long term regulation of ion transport PMID: 12000747
  4. role in modulating pulmonary fibroblast proliferation and cytoskeletal organization in an intact cell PMID: 12577318
  5. may function as a global negative modulator of differentiated cardiac gene expression PMID: 15652358
