Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Directly involved in telomere replication. Associates with telomerase and during its interaction with CDC13, telomerase activity is promoted.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Recruitment of Est1 to telomeres via a Cdc13-Est1 fusion is sufficient to bypass the role of Ku in promoting telomere elongation. PMID: 24879463
  2. Autonomous localization of Est1p to the nucleus via the classical nuclear import pathway contributes to normal telomere length maintenance. PMID: 24906415
  3. Esl1 has no telomere-related functions, but contributes to the regulation of adaptive gene expression responses. PMID: 23893744
  4. It is possible that the intramolecular G-quadruplex promoting activity of Est1 is biologically relevant in telomere replication in vivo. PMID: 23376615
  5. There is a biochemical interaction between Est1 and the telomere binding protein Cdc13. Association of the Est1 protein with the telomerase catalytic core is not a regulatory event that contributes to telomere homeostasis. PMID: 23390975
  6. the telomeric Cdc13 protein interacts directly with the telomerase subunit Est1 to bring it to telomeric DNA ends in vitro PMID: 21969561
  7. The tricotetrapeptide repeat of Est1 is required for Est2-mediated telomere length maintenance. PMID: 22011238
  8. These results demonstrate that one major functional role that Est1 brings to the telomerase complex is the capping or protection of telomeres. PMID: 21220516
  9. The authors show that the yeast telomerase subunit Est1p, known to be involved in telomerase recruitment to telomeres, can convert single-stranded telomeric G-rich DNA into a G-quadruplex structure in vitro in a Mg(2+)-dependent manner. PMID: 20098422
  10. telomerase assembly during G1 phase is regulated by Est1p stability, but assembly is insufficient to activate telomerase at telomeres PMID: 16862158
  11. dimerization of TLC1 is a functionally conserved feature of the RNA templates utilized by reverse transcriptases of both viral and cellular origins PMID: 17491007
  12. Maintenance of functional levels of Est2p late in the cell cycle requires that Est1p. PMID: 18949040
