Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Integrin ITGAL/ITGB2 is a receptor for ICAM1, ICAM2, ICAM3 and ICAM4. Integrin ITGAL/ITGB2 is also a receptor for the secreted form of ubiquitin-like protein ISG15; the interaction is mediated by ITGAL. Integrins ITGAM/ITGB2 and ITGAX/ITGB2 are receptors for the iC3b fragment of the third complement component and for fibrinogen. Integrin ITGAX/ITGB2 recognizes the sequence G-P-R in fibrinogen alpha-chain. Integrin ITGAM/ITGB2 recognizes P1 and P2 peptides of fibrinogen gamma chain. Integrin ITGAM/ITGB2 is also a receptor for factor X. Integrin ITGAD/ITGB2 is a receptor for ICAM3 and VCAM1. Contributes to natural killer cell cytotoxicity. Involved in leukocyte adhesion and transmigration of leukocytes including T-cells and neutrophils. Triggers neutrophil transmigration during lung injury through PTK2B/PYK2-mediated activation. Integrin ITGAL/ITGB2 in association with ICAM3, contributes to apoptotic neutrophil phagocytosis by macrophages.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Identification of numerous variations in exonic and intronic regions within the ITGB2 gene in Bos taurus and indicus screened for bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency. PMID: 22374219
  2. intramammarily administered lipopolysaccharides seem to play an important role in modulating L-selectin and beta2 integrin expression on circulating bovine polymorphonuclear leukocytes PMID: 12906050
  3. A delay in apoptosis was demonstrated in CD18-deficient bovine neutrophils and this appeared to be closely associated with lowered signalling via [Ca2+]i, diminished annexin V expression on the cell surface, and decreased caspase 3 activity in lysates PMID: 14984592
  4. The I-EGF-3 domain of bovine CD18 (amino acid residues 541-581) is critical for conferring species-specific susceptibility to Mannheimia haemolytica leukotoxin. PMID: 17590223
  5. These results clearly indicate that the bovine CD18 subunit of beta(2)-integrins is the functional receptor for M. haemolytica Lkt.[ruminant-specific leukotoxin] PMID: 17698568
  6. study provides evidence that the expression of CD18 was downregulated by the plasma glycoforms of alpha-1 acid glycoprotein and inhibited the chemotaxis of monocytes PMID: 18577362
  7. Loss of CD18 is associated with bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency. PMID: 19490168
  8. Intact signal peptide of CD18, the beta-subunit of beta2-integrins, renders ruminants susceptible to Mannheimia haemolytica leukotoxin. PMID: 19706410

Involvement in disease
Defects in ITGB2 are the cause of leukocyte adhesion deficiency (LAD). The mutation causing LAD (Gly-128) is prevalent among Holstein cattle throughout the world, placing this disorder among the most common genetic diseases known in animal agriculture. All cattle with the mutant allele are related to one bull, who through the use of artificial insemination sired many calves in the 1950s and 1960s.
Subcellular Location
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
