Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
This is a receptor for VIP as well as PACAP-38 and -27, the activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. Can be coupled to phospholipase C.
Gene References into Functions
  1. the protein and mRNA expression of pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide-related receptors (PAC1, VPAC1, and VPAC2) in the trigeminal ganglia and trigeminal nucleus caudalis to identify changes associated with repetitive applications of chemical dural stimulations. PMID: 28776455
  2. In cultured rat conjunctival goblet cells, VPAC1 and 2 receptors are functional; VIP stimulates a cAMP-dependent increase in [Ca(2+)]i and glycoconjugate secretion, but not ERK1/2 activation. PMID: 23518767
  3. Although cerebellar arteries expressed transcripts for all three PACAP receptor subtypes, middle meningeal arteries demonstrated only PAC1 and VPAC2 receptor expression. PMID: 22766684
  4. both VPAC1 and VPAC2 could have roles at all stages of retinal development, that PACAP acts through a specific set of PAC1 isoforms, and that Hip and Hop1 are predominantly involved in the postnatal development of rat retina. PMID: 23099490
  5. Expression and distribution of vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor 2 remains unchanged in aged rat brains. PMID: 20599818
  6. investigation of role of VPAC2 (& VPAC1) in pulmonary circulation in health/disease: distribution of VPAC2 (& VPAC1) in aorta/pulmonary artery (& smooth muscle cells); effects of VPAC antagonists on cell proliferation; dominant role of VPAC2 PMID: 20452385
  7. Presence of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) receptor 2 mRNA is demonstrated at sites putatively innervated by VIP-containing projections from the suprachiasmatic nucleus. PMID: 15176082
  8. Aging reduces vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) receptor mRNA within the suprachiasmatic nucleus of aged male rats. A diurnal rhythm of VPAC2 receptor mRNA was present but reduced in the aged rats. PMID: 15344914
  9. all three PACAP/VIP receptor subtypes are expressed in primary rat adipocytes, but that the VPAC2-R subtype is responsible for mediating the lipolytic effects induced by PACAP38 and VIP. PMID: 15514088
  10. Thus, spinal p38 and p42/44 MAP kinases are activated in neuropathic pain states by mechanisms involving VPAC2, NK2, NMDA receptors and glial cytokine production. PMID: 16202621
  11. VPAC2 receptor activation mediates vasoactive intestinal polypeptide enhancement of population spike amplitude in the hippocampus essentially through a protein kinase A-dependent mechanism PMID: 16888168
  12. inhibitory effect of pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide on food intake may be mediated, at least in part, through modulation of neuropeptide Y neurotransmission PMID: 16888209
  13. Involvement of VPAC1 and VPAC2 receptors in increasing local pancreatic blood flow in anesthetized rats. PMID: 18665096
