CCL24 (eotaxin-2) is a potent CC chemokine that selectively recruits eosinophils via CCR3, making it a critical tool for dissecting eosinophil-driven inflammatory responses. This tag-free recombinant rat CCL24 (residues 23–119) encompasses the mature protein sequence and demonstrates confirmed biological activity in a chemotaxis bioassay using human peripheral blood eosinophils at 50–250 ng/ml, providing a suitable basis for eosinophil migration assays, CCR3 signaling pathway studies involving MAPK and NF-κB activation, and in vivo rat models of allergic airway inflammation or tissue eosinophilia. Endotoxin levels below 1.0 EU/μg minimize LPS-driven artifacts that can confound immune cell functional readouts, which satisfies the purity and endotoxin criteria typical for sensitive chemotaxis and cell-based activation experiments. Purity exceeding 96% by SDS-PAGE further supports use as a reference standard in cytokine detection assays or as a reliable coating antigen for antibody development and ELISA validation.
