The recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae (strain JAY291) (Baker's yeast) ATG32 protein is introduced into a rabbit to trigger an immune reaction. As time passes, the rabbit's immune system produces antibodies against the ATG32 protein. When enough antibodies have been generated, a sample of rabbit serum is gathered to obtain the polyclonal antibodies. The collected serum, which contains the ATG32 antibody, undergoes protein A/G affinity chromatography purification. The effectiveness of the ATG32 antibody is assessed in ELISA and WB applications. This ATG32 antibody can interact with the Saccharomyces cerevisiae (strain JAY291) (Baker's yeast) ATG32 protein.
The Saccharomyces cerevisiae (strain JAY291) ATG32 protein mainly acts as a receptor for mitophagy, which is the selective degradation of mitochondria. ATG32 is involved in the process of autophagy, specifically targeting damaged or unnecessary mitochondria for recycling. It plays a crucial role in maintaining mitochondrial quality control and cellular homeostasis.
