Description

The production of the lysenin-related protein 2 polyclonal antibody is a methodical process. It commences with the repeated immunization of a rabbit using a recombinant Eisenia fetida lysenin-related protein 2 (1-300aa) until an adequate antibody titer is attained. LRP-2 is one of lysenin, a pore-forming protein that is derived from the coelomic fluid of the earthworm Eisenia foetida and that specifically interacts with sphingomyelin (SM). LRP-2 specifically bound SM and induced hemolysis like lysenin.
