By introducing the recombinant Caenorhabditis elegans MT1 protein into a rabbit, the production of antibodies targeting this specific antigen is stimulated. To further enhance antibody production, a booster injection is administered. The MT1 polyclonal antibodies present in the rabbit's serum are then collected and purified using protein A/G. Rigorous testing conducted through ELISA and WB assays has conclusively demonstrated the MT1 antibody's recognition of Caenorhabditis elegans MT1 protein.
The Caenorhabditis elegans MT1 protein is a metallothionein protein, which is known to bind and regulate the levels of metal ions, such as zinc and copper, in cells. Metallothioneins are involved in various cellular processes, including metal homeostasis, detoxification, and protection against oxidative stress.
