Target Background

Function
Prolyl 3,4-dihydroxylase that catalyzes 3,4-dihydroxylation of 'Pro-62' of small ribosomal subunit uS12 (rps23 and rps2302), thereby regulating protein translation termination efficiency. Negative regulator of the stability of the N-terminal transcription factor domain (Sre1N) of sre1 which is released from the membrane and enters the nucleus to activate hypoxic gene expression.
Gene References into Functions
  1. hydroxylase Ofd1 regulates the Sre1 hypoxic transcription factor in fission yeast by controlling DNA binding.[Sre1; ofd1] PMID: 22017871
  2. The Ofd1 N-terminal dioxygenase domain is required for oxygen sensing and the Ofd1 C-terminal domain accelerates Sre1N degradation.(Sre1)(Ofd1) PMID: 18418381
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm. Nucleus.
Protein Families
TPA1 family
