Oral-Facial-Digital Syndrome 1 Protein (OFD1) is a centrosomal and ciliary protein critical for organelle biogenesis, with no widely established alternative aliases. Localized to centrosomes, basal bodies, and cilia, it regulates ciliogenesis by mediating protein trafficking to ciliary membranes and maintaining centrosome integrity. OFD1 also participates in cell cycle progression, particularly in centrosome duplication and spindle assembly, ensuring proper cell division through interactions with microtubule-associated proteins.
OFD1 function is tied to pathways governing ciliary signaling, such as the Hedgehog (Hh) pathway, where it modulates downstream signaling via ciliary protein localization. Mutations in OFD1 cause Oral-Facial-Digital Syndrome Type 1 (OFD1), a rare X-linked disorder characterized by facial, oral, and digital anomalies, often with renal or central nervous system involvement. Currently, drug development targeting OFD1 remains limited, focusing on symptomatic management of OFD1 syndrome rather than direct protein modulators, given the disorder’s genetic basis and early research stage.
OFD1 Antibody (CSB-PA016289LA01HU)
Validated Data
IHC image of CSB-PA016289LA01HU diluted at 1:100 and staining in paraffin-embedded human skeletal muscle tissue performed on a Leica BondTM system. After dewaxing and hydration, antigen retrieval was mediated by high pressure in a citrate buffer (pH 6.0). Section was blocked with 10% normal goat serum 30min at 37℃ Then primary antibody (1% BSA) was incubated at 4°C overnight. The primary is detected by a Goat anti-Mouse IgG labeled by HRP and visualized using 0.05% DAB.
Western Blot
Positive WB detected in: Hela whole cell lysate, K562 whole cell lysate, SH-SY5Y whole cell lysate, A549 whole cell lysate, HL-60 whole cell lysate
All lanes: OFD1 antibody at 1:1000
Secondary
Goat polyclonal to rabbit IgG at 1/50000 dilution
Predicted band size: 117,112,43 KDa
Observed band size: 117 KDa
