Target Background

Function

Scaffold protein involved in different aspects of polarized cells differentiation regulating epithelial and neuronal morphogenesis. Regulates the caudal migration of the nVII motor neurons. Required for convergent extension movements during gastrulation.

Gene References into Functions

Zygotic expression of Scribble1 (scrb1) is required for migration of the nVII motor neurons mainly in a non cell-autonomous manner, while maternal expression is required for convergent extension movements during gastrulation. PMID: 15829519
Suppression of scrib and puf60 in zebrafish leads to reduction in body length, small head size, and craniofacial defects. PMID: 24140112
It was found that Scribble is required for oriented cell division and that its function in this process is independent of canonical apicobasal and planar polarity pathways. PMID: 21185191
