Description

This ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of glycoprotein nonmetastatic melanoma protein B (GPNMB) in human samples, supporting oncology research where GPNMB drives tumor progression, immune evasion, and metastasis. Because GPNMB is both a shed extracellular domain circulating in blood and an overexpressed protein within the tumor microenvironment, researchers need an assay that performs across both fluid and solid tissue contexts.

Detection Range: The 0.156–10 ng/mL range aligns with reported circulating soluble GPNMB levels, which are elevated in patients with breast cancer, glioblastoma, and melanoma compared to healthy controls. Most serum and plasma samples can be measured directly or with minimal dilution, while concentrated tissue homogenates may require titration to fall within range.

Sensitivity: At 0.039 ng/mL, the kit detects GPNMB in low-abundance conditions such as early-stage tumor conditioned media or plasma from patients prior to significant disease burden, where shed ectodomain concentrations remain near baseline.
