Because sRAGE functions as a decoy receptor whose circulating levels shift markedly between baseline and inflammatory states, accurate quantification across both conditions demands a carefully calibrated assay.
Detection Range: The 31.25–2000 pg/mL range spans reported mouse serum sRAGE concentrations under both homeostatic and inflammatory conditions. Samples from acute injury or diabetic models, where sRAGE can rise substantially, may require dilution, while baseline measurements typically fall within range without concentration steps.
Sensitivity: At 7.81 pg/mL, the kit detects sRAGE in low-abundance samples such as conditioned media from unstimulated macrophages or endothelial cells, where shed and secreted sRAGE isoforms are present at minimal levels prior to inflammatory activation.
Sample Compatibility: Validation across serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, and tissue homogenates enables researchers to correlate circulating sRAGE with local tissue expression — for example, comparing plasma levels to lung homogenate concentrations in models of acute lung injury or pulmonary fibrosis.
