Because LCN2 is an acute-phase protein whose expression can shift dramatically — from low baseline levels in healthy tissue to markedly elevated concentrations during infection, renal injury, or inflammation — this kit is designed to capture that dynamic range across diverse experimental models.
Detection Range: The 31.25–2000 pg/mL range accommodates the steep induction of LCN2 observed in mouse serum and tissue during inflammatory challenge, while still resolving baseline concentrations. Samples from LPS-stimulated or ischemia-reperfusion models will likely require dilution, whereas unstimulated controls can often be measured neat.
Sensitivity: At 15.625 pg/mL, the kit detects LCN2 in low-abundance conditions such as conditioned media from resting macrophages or neutrophils prior to activation, where secreted levels are minimal but biologically meaningful.
Sample Compatibility: Validation across serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, and tissue homogenates enables researchers to correlate circulating LCN2 with local tissue expression and in vitro cellular output within a single study, critical for dissecting organ-specific innate immune responses.
