The Rat brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) ELISA Kit is an accurate tool for the quantification of BNP in rat serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates. BNP is a hormone produced by the heart that plays a crucial role in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance, the condition of heart function can be judged by the examination of this item. This ELISA kit detects BNP with high sensitivity, with a detection range of 125 pg/mL to 8000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 31.25 pg/mL.

The assay principle is a sandwich measurement, providing quantitative results that can be obtained in as little as 1-5 hours. The kit is optimized for use with a sample volume of 50-100ul, making it an efficient solution for researchers.

This ELISA kit is ideal for researchers in the area of cardiovascular disease research, as BNP has been shown to be a reliable biomarker of heart failure. Additionally, our kit has been widely cited in scientific literature, with over 13 publications referencing its use.

Target Background

(From Uniprot)
Cardiac hormone that plays a key role in mediating cardio-renal homeostasis. May also function as a paracrine antifibrotic factor in the heart. Acts by specifically binding and stimulating NPR1 to produce cGMP, which in turn activates effector proteins that drive various biological responses. Likely involved in regulating the extracellular fluid volume and maintaining the fluid-electrolyte balance through natriuresis, diuresis, kaluresis and chloruresis.
