Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%
Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%
Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

Linearity
To assess the linearity of the assay, samples were spiked with high concentrations of rabbit TGF-β1 in various matrices and diluted with the Sample Diluent to produce samples with values within the dynamic range of the assay.

Description

The product CSB-E07000Rb is a sandwich ELISA kit developed to measure levels of rabbit transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) in serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. The enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction is also used to amplify the signal and quantify the levels of the analyte through the intensity of the colored product. The color intensity positively correlates with the amount of TGF-β1 bound in the initial step.

TGF-β1 (TGFBI) is a pleiotropic cytokine ubiquitously expressed in most tissues with diverse biological functions including senescence, cell proliferation, apoptosis, tumor suppression, differentiation, migration, immunity, osteogenesis, adipogenesis, and wound healing. It importantly contributes to cardiac fibrosis by controlling differentiation, migration, and collagen secretion of cardiac myofibroblasts. TGF-β1 is the most abundant isoform in the mucosa of the gut and may play an important role in the postnatal adaptation of the gastrointestinal tract in suckling animals. It also regulates the intestinal development and function in post-weaning adaptation processes in the intestine of pigs.

Target Background

Function
(From Uniprot)
Plays a role in cell adhesion. May play a role in cell-collagen interactions.
Subcellular Location
Secreted. Secreted, extracellular space, extracellular matrix.
Tissue Specificity
Located primarily in the epithelium of normal adult cornea, in fetal stromal cells, and both endothelium- and stroma-derived cells in healing corneal wounds. Not expressed in normal adult endothelium and stroma.
