The production of the KRT17 monoclonal antibody begins with the immunization of mice using a synthesized peptide derived from human KRT17. B cells are then isolated from the mice spleen and fused with myeloma cells to form hybridomas. These hybridomas are screened to select those that produce KRT17 antibodies. The selected hybridomas are cultured in the mouse abdominal cavity, and the KRT17 monoclonal antibodies are purified using affinity chromatography with a specific immunogen. The resulting purified KRT17 mouse monoclonal antibody is highly specific and reacts exclusively with human KRT17 protein in ELISA and IHC applications.
KRT17 is a type of intermediate filament protein that is involved in maintaining the structural integrity of epithelial cells. In particular, KRT17 is expressed in the basal layer of stratified epithelia and plays a role in cell adhesion, migration, and differentiation. KRT17 has also been implicated in wound healing, cancer metastasis, and the regulation of the hair cycle.
