Image	Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human glioma using CSB-PA013562LA01HU at dilution of 1:100 Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human brain tissue using CSB-PA013562LA01HU at dilution of 1:100 Immunofluorescence staining of MCF-7 cells with CSB-PA013562LA01HU at 1:100, counter-stained with DAPI. The cells were fixed in 4% formaldehyde, permeabilized using 0.2% Triton X-100 and blocked in 10% normal Goat Serum. The cells were then incubated with the antibody overnight at 4°C. The secondary antibody was Alexa Fluor 488-congugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG(H+L).

Target Background

Function

Receptor for MSH (alpha, beta and gamma) and ACTH. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylate cyclase. This receptor is a possible mediator of the immunomodulation properties of melanocortins.

Mutations in residues S4/S5 and S17/E18 retained MC5R at the ER/Golgi complex and did not affect MC5R homodimerization. PMID: 28396017
D115 and D119 in TM3, F195 in TM5, and F254 in TM6 may form a binding pocket for NDP-alpha-MSH binding. PMID: 23414113
