Description

The recombinant human SLC20A1 protein (263-458aa) is used to immunize a rabbit to generate the SLC20A1 polyclonal antibody. The rabbit's immune system will recognize the immunogen as foreign and produce antibodies against it. The SLC20A1 polyclonal antibodies are purified from the rabbit's serum using protein G affinity chromatography. The purity of this SLC20A1 antibody is over 95%. This SLC20A1 antibody can be used to detect human SLC20A1 protein in ELISA, WB, and IF applications.

The SLC20A1 protein, also known as PiT-1, mainly transports inorganic phosphate (Pi) across the plasma membrane of cells. Pi uptake via SLC20A1 is necessary for the proper functioning of various tissues and organs, including bone, kidney, and brain. Mutations in SLC20A1 have been associated with several disorders, including idiopathic basal ganglia calcification (IBGC) and some types of familial idiopathic hyperphosphatemia (FIH).

Target Background

Function
Sodium-phosphate symporter which plays a fundamental housekeeping role in phosphate transport, such as absorbing phosphate from interstitial fluid for normal cellular functions such as cellular metabolism, signal transduction, and nucleic acid and lipid synthesis. May play a role in extracellular matrix and cartilage calcification as well as in vascular calcification.; (Microbial infection) May function as a retroviral receptor as it confers human cells susceptibility to infection to Gibbon Ape Leukemia Virus (GaLV), Simian sarcoma-associated virus (SSAV) and Feline leukemia virus subgroup B (FeLV-B) as well as 10A1 murine leukemia virus (10A1 MLV).
