Description
The LexA antibody is prepared through the immunization of rabbits with the peptide corresponding to amino acids 1-202 of the recombinant E.coli LexA repressor protein and further purification from rabbit antiserum by protein G. It is a polyclonal antibody and exists as an unconjugated IgG. Its purity reaches up to 95%. It only reacts with the LexA protein of E.coli-origin. And this anti-LexA antibody has been validated for use in ELISA and WB analyses. In E.coli, the transcriptional repressor LexA controls the SOS response, which is a coordinated cellular response to DNA damage. The LexA protein inhibits gene expression by binding as a dimer to a 16-mer consensus sequence CTG-N10-CAG named SOS boxes.
