Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Acts as a substrate for the production of iodinated thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). The synthesis of T3 and T4 involves iodination of selected tyrosine residues of TG/thyroglobulin followed by their oxidative coupling. Following TG re-internalization and lysosomal-mediated proteolysis, T3 and T4 are released from the polypeptide backbone leading to their secretion into the bloodstream. One dimer produces 7 thyroid hormone molecules.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Data suggest that flotillin-1 and flotillin-2 function as thyroglobulin-binding proteins in lipid rafts of thyrocytes; these interactions appear to exert negative-feedback effects on gene expression in thyrocytes. PMID: 27676653
  2. There were no associations between x genotype and fertility related traits in this study. PMID: 27065254
  3. The results of this study suggest that TG gene-specific SNPs may be a useful marker for growth traits in marker-assisted selection programs in beef cattle. PMID: 26125728
  4. Solution studies, size exclusion chromatography, dynamic light scattering and analytical ultracentrifugation, demonstrated the size changes of thyroglobulin oligomers after nitric oxide treatment. PMID: 24264462
  5. The genetic effects of thyroglobulin and casein alpha s1 alpha in the body fat distribution of cattle are reported. PMID: 23148258
  6. TG gene-specific single nucleotide polymorphism may be a useful marker for meat quality traits. PMID: 21153925
  7. The results confirm the lack of an association found by many other studies and suggest that these SNPs are not influential on the divergent intramuscular fat levels in the crossbred population tested. PMID: 20416823
  8. Localization of thyrotropin receptor and thyroglobulin in the bovine corpus luteum. PMID: 19553036
  9. Atrial natriuretic peptide inhibits iodide uptake and thyroglobulin messenger ribonucleic acid expression in cultured bovine thyroid follicles. PMID: 12047906
  10. Markers at the thyroglobulin gene may be a useful predictor of marbling performance for producers raising Wagyu-based cattle; the SNP reported in the thyroglobulin gene was associated with marbling score in cattle with Wagyu inheritance PMID: 17686891
  11. Single nucleotide polymorphism of thyroglobulin gene is associated with fat deposition. PMID: 18670061
  12. we have demonstrated for the first time that thyroglobulin possesses proliferative effect on thyroid epithelial cells in addition to being the precursor of the thyroid hormones. PMID: 19261995
  13. Immunization with Tg induces Graves'-like disease in mice and that our methods will provide a new animal model of Graves' disease. PMID: 19491147
