Full Length of Mature Protein
Tag Info
N-terminal 10xHis-tagged and C-terminal Myc-tagged
Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol. If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Description

Achieving the recombinant Felis catus CH1 protein production entails controlling the expression of the desired gene in e.coli cells. The sequence (23-92aa) of foreign DNA is integrated into an expression vector and then transferred to e.coli cells. Selected positive cells are cultured to induce the expression of the desired protein. The protein carries a N-terminal 10xHis tag and C-terminal Myc tag. The recombinant Felis catus CH1 protein is purified through affinity purification, exhibiting a purity greater than 85%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Background

Gene References into Functions
  1. Cat Fel d 1 is an ABP-like molecule in which monomeric chains 1 and 2 are the equivalent of the ABPA and ABPBG monomers, respectively. These findings suggest that the biological and molecular function of Fel d 1 is similar to that of ABP in chemical communication, possibly via pheromone and/or steroid binding. PMID: 29771985
  2. Conformational effects brought upon by glycosylation were identified, potentially involved in cavity volume regulation. Only the central Ca2+ ion remains coordinated to Fel d 1 in biological solutions, impairing its role in modulating phospholipase A2. PMID: 26134118
  3. Truncated dimers of Fel d 1 were identified, probably resulting from proteolytic degradation of both chains and present in all cats. Core fragments are largely distributed among anatomical sites of production and especially well represented in anal sac. PMID: 20145408
  4. Crystals of Fel d 1 (1+2) were obtained using the hanging-drop vapour-diffusion method. PMID: 16511003
