Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Destroys radicals which are normally produced within the cells and which are toxic to biological systems.
Gene References into Functions
  1. cold storage from 24 h prior to freezing resulted in a decrease in the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in the frozen-thawed sperm cells whereas the glucose peroxidase (GPX) activity and tROS levels were not affected. PMID: 23279517
  2. a genomic insertion in intron 2 of SOD1 was found during routine diagnostic testing for canine degenerative myelopathy PMID: 27917507
  3. The cyclic changes of SOD1 and GPx1 suggest that they may play important roles in endometrial physiology, probably in apoptosis and proliferation. PMID: 27114170
  4. Variants within the SP110 nuclear body protein modify risk of canine degenerative myelopathy PMID: 27185954
  5. The results of this study support the hypothesis that the cytoplasmic accumulation and aggregate formation of the mutant SOD1 protein PMID: 26162235
  6. The SOD1:c.118G>A mutation could be a useful marker for breeding strategies intending to reduce the incidence of Degenerative myelopathy . PMID: 24390315
  7. The frequency of the canine degenerative myelopathy-associated c.118G>A (p.E40K) mutation of SOD1 in healthy Pembroke Welsh Corgis in Japan using conventional and real time PCR methods is reported. PMID: 23328634
  8. Our findings lend strong biochemical support to the toxic role of SOD1 in canine degenerative myelopathy and establish close parallels for the role mutant SOD1 plays in both canine and human disorders. PMID: 23707216
  9. Muscle and peripheral nerve specimens at varying disease stages from Pembroke Welsh Corgis and Boxers are homozygous for the SOD1 mutation and have spinal cord histopathology consistent with degenerative myelopathy. PMID: 22542607
  10. case report of c.52A > T missense mutation resulting in degenerative myelopathy PMID: 21848967
  11. the continuous expression of mutant SOD1 causes the downregulation of GLT-1 by increasing the internalisation and degradation of the surface transporter, and the cytosolic tail of GLT-1 is required to targets the transporter to degradation PMID: 15466883
