Form
Liquid or Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer
If the delivery form is liquid, the default storage buffer is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 5%-50% glycerol.
Note: If you have any special requirement for the glycerol content, please remark when you place the order.
If the delivery form is lyophilized powder, the buffer before lyophilization is Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
3-7 business days
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Description

Amino acids 2-286 form the expressed segment for recombinant Human CAPZA2. The theoretical molecular weight of the CAPZA2 protein is 48.8 kDa. This CAPZA2 protein is produced using e.coli expression system. The N-terminal 6xHis-SUMO tag was fused into the coding gene segment of CAPZA2, making it easier to detect and purify the CAPZA2 recombinant protein in the later stages of expression and purification.

F-actin-capping protein subunit alpha-2 (CAPZA2) is a protein involved in the regulation of the cellular cytoskeleton, with its primary focus on the dynamics of the cytoskeleton and cell movement. One of the key research areas is its role in end-terminal regulation of the cell cytoskeleton. CAPZA2 primarily functions in controlling the end growth of F-actin (actin filaments), thereby influencing cell morphology and migration. During the process of cell migration, CAPZA2 regulates the assembly and disassembly of the cell cytoskeleton, impacting cell movement and positioning. Moreover, CAPZA2's regulatory role in cell migration, invasion, and directed movement makes it a prominent subject in cancer research. Additionally, CAPZA2 may also play a role in the development of the nervous system and maintaining the stability of cell structures.

Target Background

Function
F-actin-capping proteins bind in a Ca(2+)-independent manner to the fast growing ends of actin filaments (barbed end) thereby blocking the exchange of subunits at these ends. Unlike other capping proteins (such as gelsolin and severin), these proteins do not sever actin filaments.
