Reconstitution

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Storage Condition

Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shelf Life

The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.

Description

Amino acids 23-231 constitute the expression domain of recombinant Mouse Icam4. The theoretical molecular weight of the Icam4 protein is 39.1 kDa. This Icam4 recombinant protein is manufactured in e.coli. The N-terminal 6xHis-SUMO tag was fused into the coding gene segment of Icam4, making it easier to detect and purify the Icam4 recombinant protein in the later stages of expression and purification.

The main functions of the mouse Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 4 (Icam4) lie in its role as a cell adhesion molecule primarily expressed in erythroid cells. Icam4 is implicated in cellular interactions and adhesion processes, particularly during erythroblast maturation. By participating in cell-cell adhesion, Icam4 likely contributes to the regulation of hematopoietic and immune system functions. Its involvement in erythroid cell development suggests a role in the formation and maturation of red blood cells.

Function

Adhesion molecule that binds to leukocyte adhesion LFA-1 protein LFA-1 (integrin alpha-L/beta-2). ICAM4 is also a ligand for alpha-4/beta-1 and alpha-V integrins. Isoform 2 may modulate binding of membrane-associated ICAM4.
