Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose.
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Lamins are components of the nuclear lamina, a fibrous layer on the nucleoplasmic side of the inner nuclear membrane, which is thought to provide a framework for the nuclear envelope and may also interact with chromatin.
Gene References into Functions
  1. By using targeted knockout in olfactory epithelial stem cells in adult mice, we show that lamin B1 deficient neurons exhibit attenuated response to odour stimulation. This deficit can be explained by decreased expression of genes involved in mature neuron function, along with increased expression of genes atypical of the olfactory lineage. PMID: 28425486
  2. The parts of chromatin interact with nuclear lamina proteins like Lamin B1 and, therefore, can be identified in a given cell type by chromatin profiling of these proteins. PMID: 29738692
  3. Here we report that in primary mouse cortical neurons, LMNB1 overexpression reduces axonal outgrowth, whereas deficiency of endogenous Lmnb1 results in aberrant dendritic development. PMID: 26510501
  4. Analysis of lamin B1 expression in different regions of the brain in wild-type animals showed that the level of Lmnb1 transcript decreased significantly in an age-dependent manner. PMID: 25343989
  5. Data show that lamins B1 and B2 have unique functions and that increased production of one B-type lamin cannot compensate for the loss of the other. PMID: 25482116
  6. lamins B1 and B2 have unique roles in the developing brain and increased production of one B-type lamin does not fully complement loss of the other. PMID: 24672053
  7. Lamin-B1 is required for organization of lamin-A/C and lamin-B2 in mouse embryonic stem cells and Lamin-B1 is required for organization of lamin-A/C and lamin-B2 in differentiated cells PMID: 24523288
  8. farnesylation of lamin B1--but not lamin B2--is crucial for brain development and for retaining chromatin within the bounds of the nuclear lamina during neuronal migration. PMID: 23650370
  9. lamin B1 overexpression mediates oligodendrocyte cell-autonomous neuropathology in adult-onset autosomal-dominant leukodystrophy. PMID: 23676464
  10. We conclude that lamin B1 is a modifier gene of major effect for Neural tube defects resulting from loss of Grhl3 function PMID: 23166514
  11. Lamin B1 is lost from primary human and murine cell strains when they are induced to senesce. PMID: 22496421
  12. Lamin B1 is essential for brain development and is required for the integrity of the nuclear lamina. PMID: 21976703
  13. study found that embryonic stem cells do not need any lamins for self-renewal and pluripotency; however, B-type lamins are required for proper organogenesis PMID: 22116031
  14. Absence of both Lmnb1 and Lmnb2 in keratinocytes has no effect on cell proliferation or the development of skin and hair. PMID: 21659336
  15. lamin B1 mutant mice provide evidence for a broad and nonredundant function of lamin B1 in mammalian development. PMID: 15232008
  16. Post-translationally processed lamin B1 has some control of gene expression as well as chromosome position. PMID: 17312019
  17. lamin B1 serves a fundamental role within the nuclear envelope: anchoring the nucleus to the cytoskeleton. PMID: 17488709
  18. PLCbeta1 colocalizes and physically interacts with lamin B1. PMID: 19028838
  19. Sequestration of Oct-1 at the nuclear periphery by lamin B1 may be a mechanism by which the nuclear envelope can regulate gene expression and contribute to the cellular response to stress, development, and aging. PMID: 19139261
  20. lamin B1 and miR-23 have roles in the regulation of oligodendroglia development and myelin formation PMID: 19259393
