Conjugate Avi-tag Biotinylated
E. coli biotin ligase (BirA) is highly specific in covalently attaching biotin to the 15 amino acid AviTag peptide. This recombinant protein was biotinylated in vivo by AviTag-BirA technology, which method is BriA catalyzes amide linkage between the biotin and the specific lysine of the AviTag.

Tag Info
Tag type will be determined during the manufacturing process.
The tag type will be determined during production process. If you have specified tag type, please tell us and we will develop the specified tag preferentially.
Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We will preferentially ship the format that we have in stock, however, if you have any special requirement for the format, please remark your requirement when placing the order, we will prepare according to your demand.
Buffer before Lyophilization
Tris/PBS-based buffer, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
Reconstitution
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Troubleshooting and FAQs
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shelf Life
The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself.
Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Lead Time
Delivery time may differ from different purchasing way or location, please kindly consult your local distributors for specific delivery time.
Note: All of our proteins are default shipped with normal blue ice packs, if you request to ship with dry ice, please communicate with us in advance and extra fees will be charged.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.

Target Background

Function
Transcriptional activator. May function as a switch in neuronal development. Keeps neural cells undifferentiated by counteracting the activity of proneural proteins and suppresses neuronal differentiation.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Optimal SOXB1 levels are critical for each pluripotent state and for cell fate decisions during exit from naive pluripotency. PMID: 29256862
  2. These results demonstrate a novel role for SOX2 in glial process outgrowth and adhesion, and provide new insights into the essential role Muller glia play in the development of retinal cytoarchitecture. PMID: 27031842
  3. Sox10 overexpression causes mammary cells to undergo a mesenchymal transition. PMID: 26365194
  4. Sox1 lineage labels activated neural stem/progenitor cells in the adult mouse hippocampus. PMID: 22992951
  5. Data show that a neural crest cells (NCCs) population that is not derived from Sox1(+) dorsal neuroepithelial cells but are derived from Sox1(-) cells differentiate into a significant population of melanocytes in the skin. PMID: 23347447
  6. genes induced in a SoxB1-dependent manner appear to constitute repressive gene regulatory networks that are directly interlinked. PMID: 23589857
  7. Sox1, a member of the SoxB1 family of transcription factors, is expressed in a subset of radial astrocytes PMID: 22992951
  8. Sox1 regulates the size of the cortical neural progenitor pool via suppression of neurogenic cell divisions. PMID: 21280160
  9. Genetic fate mapping and loss-of-function analysis show that transcription factor Sox1 is expressed in, and required for, a third type of p2-derived interneuron, which has been named V2c. PMID: 20844123
  10. Our results show that the Bergmann glia population expresses Sox1 during cerebellar development, and that these cells can be isolated and show stem cell characteristics in vitro, suggesting that they could hold a broader potential than previously thought. PMID: 19823196
  11. These data integrate functional roles of neural patterning factors, Notch signalling and SOX1 during gliogenesis. PMID: 19723505
  12. SOX1 is essential for ventral telencephalic development PMID: 12770556
  13. newly identified enhancer with Sox elements activates the alphaB-crystallin promoter in the lens, although they are separated by the entire HSPB2 gene PMID: 15113840
  14. Ventral striatum precursors and their early neuronal differentiation are unaffected in the absence of SOX1, but the prospective neurons fail to migrate to their appropriate position. PMID: 15882093
  15. Sox1 expression by early embryonic progenitor cells initially helps to maintain the cells in cell cycle, but that continued expression subsequently promotes neuronal lineage commitment PMID: 17719572
  16. expression of shRNA against GPM6A markedly reduced the expression of neuroectodermal-associated genes (OTX1, Lmx1b, En1, Pax2, Pax5, Sox1, Sox2, and Wnt1), and also the number of neural stem cells (NSC) derived from D3mshM6A cells PMID: 18522499
  17. Sox1 enhances neuroectodermal commitment and maintenance but blocks further differentiation. In contrast, Pax6 is involved in the progression of neuroectoderm toward radial glia. PMID: 18832594
